With more than 20,000 different plants, which are about 10 per cent of all the plants of the earth, South Africa is particularly rich in species. About 8000 of the species are concentrated on the small region of the Western Cape.
Jacarandas - Pretoria
Spring time is show time (September - October) in Pretoria after the dry and dusty winter.
70,000 plus flowering Jacarandas planted as street trees and in parks and gardens, are blue - purple and leave everywhere blue snow, after the late spring afternoon wind and rain.
